Kalea’s story began in 1898 at Gothenburg, Sweden by engineer Knut Anders Larsson, now grown to be one of the world’s oldest and fastest growing manufacturer of elevator. Kalea started this journey by providing electric installations and lifting equipment for the Gothenburg harbor. The name KALEA is abbreviated as Knut Anders Larssons Elektriska Aktiebolag (“Aktiebolag” means “Limited” in swedish) meaning Knut Anders Larssons’s Electric Company Ltd.
In 1920, Kalea introduced a new line of business by importing and installing passenger lifts. Development escalated after a decade in 1930 when Kalea started manufacturing its own lifts. Our expertise has always been on making our clients life simpler by providing them with high quality lift solutions at an affordable price. The key features in our lifts that differentiates us from the rest is that our lifts don’t require any Machine room, Pit or hoist making it suitable for residential and commercial spaces minimizing major renovation work. Today we are a global leader in elevator solutions with our new headquarters in Gavle, Sweden and global footprints across multiple cities in Europe, Middle East & All Asian Countries.
